Statement of Interest
The primary focus is the study of emerging and zoonotic viruses and their impact on global health. Recognizing the interconnectedness of animal, human, and environmental health, I employ a cross-disciplinary One Health approach that combines classic and molecular virology, molecular and computational biology, genomics, and data science (AI/ML) to study emerging infectious diseases. By investigating the complex interplay between pathogens and their hosts, I aim to unravel the factors that govern zoonotic virus transmission and adaptation. Additionally, I work towards developing innovative diagnostics, vaccines, and therapeutics to combat these viruses and improve global health.
